What has Congress done for us lately besides SPEND, SPEND, SPEND, SPEND, SPEND, SPEND??? Due to all this spending beyond our resources, the dollar isn't worth a damn.
Did you ever wish you could just get rid of 'em and start fresh? Be honest now, is there really even one of 'em you'd like to keep on the job based on what they've done for you lately! I didn't think so...if you're not in cahoots with 'em and getting something in your cookie jar regularly, they're only making your life worse.
I'm not going to get into a discussion about all the good things they do, the main point is that Congress does NOT work to make America better for us all, they work to make it better for their careers!!! You think Congress members want to go back to doing real work? Get serious, they want nothing to do with real work. They luv what they have and want to perpetuate it forever and die while still in office gleaning the perks of the job.
Term limits didn't work. Congress wouldn't pass it. I probably wouldn't either if I were getting all those benefits. The system needs to be changed to where Congress members have a fixed tenure, then they're outta there. That way, there's nothing monetarily that will cause 'em to pass those stupid laws like they do now. They could actually think about what's good for the USA vice themselves.
You and I can accomplish a similar task. On November 4, 2008, each of us will vote for the non-incumbent candidate; someone that hasn't had the job before; someone with a fresh perspective and hopefully not as corrupt as the incumbent. If your current Representative or Senator is a Dem, vote for the Rep candidate. If yours is now a Rep; then vote for the Dem. Regular change is the name of the game. Let's do it starting next month.
