Does anyone like setting the garbage out for pickup? Here in the BToS we have to have garbage set out for pickup NLT 6 AM Thursday mornings.
Many of us aren't up at 6 AM. Soooo, we have to set it out the night before. There's nothing I dislike more than getting ready to hit the sack and remembering that it's Wednesday night, "don't forget to set the garbage out!"
I don't have to tell you that if you set your garbage out before you go to bed at night, it's exposed for 7 - 8 hours to critters of all types. For all I know we have black bears here in the BToS. And you know those rascals have a great nose on 'em and can tear anything apart.
The alternative is to get up really early Thursday morning and set the garbage out before 6 AM; or take a chance that the garbage collectors won't make it to my house until later in the morning. Can't afford to do that, for sure...
So I'm pondering right now whether my garbage will survive the night when it's full of old food stuff with strong odors. My second thought tomorrow morning (all us older folks know what our first thought is upon waking) will be whether my garbage is still intact.
I won't ponder this one; just do it!

Look out for them bars, well maybe neighbor Ray puffing away on the stoggie in the still of the night.
