The NASCAR 'insert Favorite Sponsor Here' CUP Championship should be awarded to the driver with the most wins in the season!!!It's as simple as that. The crazy points system that exists today was originally implemented to guarantee that prominent drivers would enter races at all tracks, including the little back-woods tracks that existed 50 years ago.
That's not needed today. The goal of NASCAR should be to put on a show where the only winner is the driver finishing FIRST today!
The points system and 12 drivers qualifying for the 'Chase' is a bucket of crap...the Chase is a bucket of crap. Do away with it all.
Give the CUP to the driver that does all the winning!
Don't just ponder it; DO IT!
