NASCAR on ESPN on ABC

I watched the NASCAR race Sunday afternoon/evening from Phoenix on channel 7, an ABC station, over in Washington, DC. The race was scheduled to be on until 7:30. As often happens with live sporting events, they run over their allotted TV time period.

The ESPN on ABC announcer, Dr. Jerry Punch, announces that folks in the east can watch the remainder of the race on ESPN2 because ABC will be showing some kind of home video show!!!

I watch channel 7 on an over the air antenna. My over the air antenna doesn't get ESPN2. Bummer. The last 10% of the race was not televised to east coast over the air TV watchers.

First it's digital TV next February, now there's no TV of the last 10% of the NASCAR race on my TV. Am I pissed at ABC, damn straight I am.

ABC SUCKS!!!

JD

PS - ABC has one more NASCAR telecast next Sunday in a similar time period. Will I actually be able to see the end of the race and the crowning of the 2008 champion on my TV. We'll see, or will I???

I completely agree. My wife and I could not be more disappointed with ABC. We both work during the day on Sunday and DVR the race. To find that we missed the last 39 laps was complete frustration to say the least. Perhaps ABC can offer an option to place the remainder of the race on demand from their website for the many many patrons that missed the end.

What a bummer! And what an idiotic decision at ABC.
