Rubbin' ain't Racin' -- NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway

Rubbin' ain't racin' at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). 'Cause if you do too much rubbin' while you're racin' at TMS, you could end up gettin' some beatin' and bangin' from the wall. And even SAFER barrier walls aren't soft. Cars crunch up into a sloppy mess when hitting the wall after going over 180 MPH.

Two weeks of rubbin' and racin' at Bristol and Martinsville was just what NASCAR CUP Racing needed; a break from the boring drudgery at California (to reiterate here; what a BORING track for CUP Racing). Hopefully all race fans that were put to sleep a month ago in California have once again awakened with the advent of spring and short track racin'.

Now it's off to the 'go-fast' high banks of TMS. Only downside to racin' at TMS is that it's so damn fast. Your guy has to be super careful he don't lose the handle and wipe out. It's really hard to communicate speed on TV, so hopefully you'll be at TMS this weekend to experience in person the sounds, smell and feeling of their first race of the season.

The retro paint scheme for the Interstate Battery 18 car is beautiful this week. Personally, I think teams should do more retro stuff. It's almost always successful and the cars are beautiful, reminding fans of racing they witnessed years ago. I luv it.

Your driver has to enjoy keeping his car on the handling edge to go fast at TMS. These new cars are super fast at TMS but they don't really handle well there. Your guy will be worn out at the end of 500 miles/334 laps and will be sucking down his favorite TV ad beverage at the end of the race.

I have the TiVo set to record both the Saturday and Sunday races. I've added an extra hour to the record time for each, cause you never know what will happen at the track.

The only thing I don't know is how fickle ESPN2 is when they run over their alloted program time for a race. You know how important SPORTS (vice racing) is this time of year for ESPN!!! And all race fans know that ESPN sucks with the worst of 'em when it comes to over-runs of their tight program times for races; even switching you to a different channel, which just shoots your DVR setting in the ass!

Do good stuff; have some fun and catch some racin' from TMS this weekend,
JD
