"No progress this week," he said matter-of-factly.
Simply stated, I didn't stick to my program of controlling snacks this week. Too many cookies, donuts and other junk. I'm completely baring my soul here - no self control this week.
I did get an opportunity to share dinner two nights. Friday evening, my son and his wife hosted a fine dinner of steak, baked potato, salad and cheesecake that my daughter also participated in. Good dinner, but most important was the opportunity to spend some quality time with my kids.
Sunday evening I visited next door for some wonderful lasagna that was prepared by my ex-sister-in-law. She has a recipe from back in the '60s that just comes out so well each time she makes it. I did over-indulge a bit and topped it off with a large slice of coconut cream pie, featuring her excellent crust.
Son-in-law will be here two nights this week...we'll see how the food goes there.
Obviously, the key here is for me to kick myself in the ass and get back on to the program. Four pounds in six weeks is just terrible, even for a slow-paced program such as I have.
Here's looking forward to some positive (or is it negative) progress at next Monday's weigh-in.
Do good stuff; have some fun, and do remember to fly your flag today in remembrance of those who've served and protected us all these years...
Dewey
PS - Dinner invites were to help celebrate my birthday (the big 69). I won't get to visit with my other daughter who lives in PA until next weekend where she and family will be here for a visit. Think I'm on the hook to grill some burgers that day.
