This image was part of a political email I received today. It was meant to reflect on some aspect of the administration's policies.
When I saw it, it reminded me of an experience with my GPS last week when I had it provide directions to a Wal-Mart down near Berlin, MD. I located the store before I left the beach house and told the GPS to take the shortest route.
GPS did as it was told and after leading me south across old Route 50, it led me to a crossroad in the middle of the country with no shopping areas to be found; definitely no Wal-Mart.
I did another Wal-Mart search and found one about 5 miles closer to Ocean City. I found it with no problem and I must say that it was a very enjoyable Wal-Mart experience compared to the ones I visit in central Maryland. Not crowded and everyone was extremely pleasant.
The image brings up another point, the main one I wanted to make. Most guys are reluctant to ask directions. We never admit it to our companion, as we want them to think we know where we're going.
To be perfectly honest, every male driver has had at least one episode of 'knowing exactly where they're going' and heading down a Dead End road. I for one will admit doing it many times over the years. :-)
Ponder it and don't always trust that GPS when looking for stores,
JD
