ENDEAVOUR Launch - Watching live - old school

I took some time this morning to watch the launch of Space Shuttle ENDEAVOUR. Rocket launches have become old hat to most of the world today. But, I recall back in the old days when space travel was first being planned.

I sat in front of the TV and watched live launches when they were shown. It was all so new and so amazing to this young man at the time. I was a computer software guy who always harbored the idea that I should be the one in that capsule, or that I should be the one walking on the moon.

This morning's ENDEAVOUR launch wakened a bit of that in this ol' rascal who'll be 70 later this month. Excitement was the name of the game and rockets and space travel provided it, even if it was only via TV!!!
