I have to admit that it has been a beautiful autumn to date here in the Big Town of Savage. The combination of rain and sun have produced the most vibrant colors I've seen recently in the area.
Leaves are falling dramatically now and it's likely that by the weekend most trees will be bare and it'll be time to take the mulching mower to the lawn and the accumulated leaves. If weather cooperates, two more mowings will suffice as preparation for winter.
The absence of the NBA has seemingly made the autumn even more enjoyable. The DC area is a pretty big NBA town and between the Redskins and Wizards, there's usually little time on sports shows for lower profile sports coverage.
I for one am not at all sorry that the NBA season is on hold. I don't really expect it to be cancelled, mainly because money drives all and the NBA players make huge sums of money (spelled $$). They won't let the season be cancelled.
It's likely that NBA players are part of the 1% that the Occupy movement is protesting! However, I'm sure NBA players association would say the owners are the only ones that fit into the 1%.
But then that's the way contract negotiations go, isn't it.
JD, enjoying autumn here in the BToS
PS - November has 3 more days yet to go and news is that the NBA and Players are feeling the $$ pinch (especially from the TV contract) and are planning to begin play around Christmas and still get in a 66 game season followed by an interminable playoff series. It's been nice seeing other sports on DC TV sports coverage and newspapers. No NBA in Baltimore, possibly I'll have to begin ignoring DC sports. Heck, I could even cancel my subscription to the Washington Post.
