I Am An Ice Cruncher Kinda Guy

Are you an ice cruncher? Is your drink not gone until you eat all the ice too? I'm here today to confess that I am an ice cruncher! Foto shows the essentials. Ice slivers (crescent shaped thingies) from fridge ice maker, a gallon jug of unsweetened tea made with a gallon size Lipton Iced Tea bag and Sweet and Low packets...not shown is my ol' stained 22oz plastic iced tea cup with handle.

I'm an iced tea drinker and I cannot possibly finish off a glass until I've also eaten all the ice. I have an obsession to make that happen. If I leave the cup setting around with ice in it, I'll eventually eat it all, even without any tea remaining.

I pour room-temperature tea over about 3/4 full cup of ice slivers and some sweet and low to generate a cup of deliciously cold iced tea. The ice slivers melt just enough that I can take one in my mouth with each sip of tea. My goal is to finish the iced tea and the ice slivers at the same time. :-)

My cup of iced tea usually lasts thru a lunch sandwich and chips and acts as a finale for the meal. Good Stuff!

I'm sure there are many downers from crunching ice. At my ripe old age, the most obvious downer is the deterioration of my teeth. Think about it, I'm drinking iced tea and crunching the ice with my teeth. Obviously, my whole mouth is very cold and the teeth are likely more brittle when they're almost frozen.

My dentist, ol' Doc Lewin over in Laurel is constantly telling me all the things I shouldn't be doing, one is crunching ice and breaking my teeth. But it's like any other addiction, you're gonna do it until you convince yourself to stop.

My teeth are kind of stained from the constant flow of iced tea and I have more crowns than you can imagine. So it's about time for me to quit crunching ice. I'm gonna have to ponder how to make it happen!

Ponder it,
JD

Tooth killing habit, for sure. But I can never resist doing the same thing myself.

I'm crunching away on some chunks, right now; but a cup of black java is my cup of tea; if ya know what I mean....
