Disappointing NASCAR Finish At Loudon (NHMS)

Someone sent me this foto of the 20, Logano's car, earlier in the race.

I don't ever recall being more disappointed at the finish of a NASCAR CUP race than I was with Sunday's race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. They only had about 30 laps left and the rain showed up. NASCAR wasted no time terminating the race and calling it official.

It had been a superb race and we were looking at a possibly exciting finish with Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch and a couple of others shooting for the win...but; the rain came and NASCAR did its thing. I was so disappointed that I watched no post race coverage and immediately stopped the TiVo recording and deleted the whole show from the library.

It was a real bummer!!!

Logano was the recipient of a great decision by Zippy, his crew chief, leaving him out with low fuel to either win when the rain showed up or finish near the back. Zippy came up a winner. Logano had run so poorly during the race, it was the only chance they had for a decent finish. Logano is showing much improvement each week and surely relishes the win, but...

We can only hope the rain stays away from the next race at NHMS.

JD, bummed out here in the Big Town of Savage
