September 20, 1973, according to Wikipedia, was the date that Jim Croce died in a plane crash. Many of you haven't been alive that long...36 years.
As a young man I wasn't much on listening to the lyrics of songs, it was just the sound of the music that did it for me. As an old fart, I find myself appreciating the thoughts communicated in songs, especially when I get a flavor for the attitudes of the composer at the time.
I rediscovered Croce's music about two months ago when I converted my old set of 3 CDs with 36 of his songs to MP3s. This particular song seems to have stuck in my head. I located this YouTube video and thot you might enjoy it too.
