Not all NASCAR fans sit in front of the Big Screen with a beer in their hand waiting for 180 MPH crashes to happen on the track at Daytona. I will admit however, that most of us do enjoy the occasional pile-up on the track and the resultant excitement of the unexpected.
Personally, I'm glad to see cars back on the track and the weekly media coverage of the NASCAR scene. You may have gleaned from these blog posts that I no longer relate to stick and ball sports and delight in the exit of the Super Bowl leading in to the NASCAR season, my time of year for sports.
NASCAR's primary series runs 36 points-paying races during the season that runs from February up until just before Thanksgiving in November. The Budweiser Shootout tonight is an exhibition race paying beaucoup bucks to the winner and hopefully putting on a show for the fans.
Will we see a crash like the one that occurred during practice Friday? It's likely we will. Daytona racing always produces crashes. I've already programmed the ol' TiVo to chronicle the event tonight. Bring on the racin'...
